An unaffiliated Solana blockchain meme coin with the ticker CHWY surged over 11,000% following a dog picture post by Keith Gill, known as “Roaring Kitty,” on his X profile. DEXTools data confirmed the price movement.
The CHWY token, unrelated to the e-commerce company Chewy, saw this dramatic increase despite the lack of text or explicit references in Gill’s post.
Gill recently praised GameStop CEO Ryan Cohen, Chewy’s founder, in a YouTube livestream.
“In particular, of course, Ryan f***ng Cohen. Ryan Cohen and his crew,” Gill said, emphasizing his focus on GameStop’s management.
Cohen, who acquired a significant GameStop stake before joining its board, became CEO in 2023.
The Solana-based meme coin GME also rose nearly 10% following the news.
